Lady Gaga has been photographed with her newborn for the first time since news of the birth broke.
The 40-year-old pop star, joined by fiancé Michael Polansky, 42, touched down in Los Angeles on Sunday after traveling by private jet, cradling the infant close beneath her coat. She kept a low profile in black sunglasses and a trench that partially concealed a floral dress and heels, her platinum hair curled for the arrival.
Polansky dressed casually for the family trip in a black hoodie, gray shorts, sneakers and a baseball cap. The couple’s first child was shielded from photographers throughout the arrival, with no details yet confirmed about the baby’s name, sex or exact age.
The outlet first reported last Friday that the couple had welcomed their baby. The news followed months of speculation after friends reportedly noticed their recent absence from public life, with some wondering whether the pair had secretly eloped.
Gaga and the venture capitalist have faced a difficult path to parenthood. A source said on Monday that the singer endured significant physical struggles while trying to conceive.
“[She’s] had a hard road to travel physically. There have been moments of giddiness and moments of despair. It has been so sad,” the source said.
The same source added that Gaga’s journey involved “severe hip issues and a heap of other physical ailments, alongside everything she puts her body through when performing.”
“It is a real tale of hard times, both physical and emotional, en route to this happy ending,” the source continued.
The couple first met in December 2019 and went public with their romance in February 2020. Polansky proposed in early 2024, and the pair reportedly began trying for a baby that same year. Both have since taken time away from work to focus on their new arrival.
Gaga has not made any public statement about becoming a mother, and her representative has not responded to requests for comment. She was first spotted with the baby during a stroll in Northern California before the Los Angeles arrival.
The Grammy winner has spoken openly in the past about her desire to build a family. In March 2025, she said she was “excited to be a mom” despite having previously felt “a lot of apprehension about it.”
The “Bad Romance” singer has long been vocal about her hopes of starting a family, making the arrival the culmination of years of expressed wish. Her previous comments to the Times marked a shift from earlier uncertainty about motherhood.
