A Florida mother flashed a broad grin for her booking photo after deputies arrested her on charges she performed sex acts with the family dog, an accusation her husband says he uncovered while hunting for a household thief.
Malia Nummerdor, 38, was charged with engaging in sexual contact with an animal this week following an investigation by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, according to an arrest report. The case began when her husband, whom she married in 2023, installed security cameras inside their home to catch whoever had been stealing money from a corn jar.
The cameras were known to everyone in the residence, the husband told investigators. While reviewing footage from a bedroom camera, he discovered video that allegedly showed Nummerdor engaging in sex acts with the family dog. He then took to Facebook to share the disturbing allegations, claiming he possessed photographic and video evidence of the acts.
The husband showed investigators images pulled from the recording and provided access to the laptop containing the full footage, the arrest report states. Deputies interviewed Nummerdor on Tuesday, and she offered an account that investigators found difficult to square with the evidence they had reviewed.
“She acknowledged the video showed her with the dog, but denied there was any sexual contact and that she was just petting it,” the arrest report noted.
Nummerdor was unable to explain the actions captured in the video, and officers found her answers contradictory, according to the report. She was arrested that same day and booked into the Charlotte County Jail, where her mugshot captured her smiling widely at the camera.
Nummerdor’s Facebook profile contains photos spanning several years showing her with her husband and her two sons. The husband was not identified in the arrest report or charging documents.
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details about the case beyond what was contained in the initial arrest report.
