Bronwyn Newport has pinpointed the moment her marriage to Todd Bradley collapsed.
The “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star, 40, told viewers during Wednesday’s Season 7 premiere that Bradley forgot her 40th birthday last September, and the snub proved devastating. “I was surprised Todd didn’t do anything for my 40th — no card, no gift, no party,” she admitted on the episode. “It was my first birthday since my dad passed, and that was really, like, the death of it.”
Newport later called the forgotten milestone “the final straw” in their nine-year union. “Ultimately, I realized I had been by myself in that marriage for a long time, and I had to get myself out,” she said during the premiere. The tech executive, 66, had been a supportive presence during the summer of 2025 after her father’s death, she said earlier this year — they spent a “quiet summer” at home together once filming for Season 6 wrapped in June. “He was really there for me and my entire family throughout everything,” she said.
Yet watching back Season 5, in which the couple weathered cheating rumors, jarred Newport into reassessing their future. “It was almost like this magical summer hadn’t happened,” she told the outlet. “We were kind of right back into some of those problems.” She maintained that reality television “brought out a weird dynamic” between them but insisted “the cameras didn’t create our problems.”
The outlet broke the separation news three months after her birthday, with sources saying Newport wanted out and was “looking at a divorce.” She confirmed the split herself the following month, calling the Season 5 rewatch “eye-opening.” During the January 27 Season 6 reunion, she declared the separation was “my choice.” The pair share no children together; Newport has a 20-year-old daughter, Gwen, from a previous relationship, while Bradley has two adult sons from his first marriage. Newport has said they did not sign a prenup.
Newport’s romantic life has already moved into public view. In February, she was linked to Brandon Good, a 32-year-old male model, after the two were spotted on a date night. “They’ve been seeing each other for a few weeks,” a source said at the time. “It’s new, but they’re enjoying getting to know one another. Bronwyn’s really happy.” During Wednesday’s episode, however, Newport’s mother Muzzy pushed back against the fledgling relationship and warned that the publicity surrounding it was “very awkward for” Gwen. “She’s very uncomfortable that it became very public,” Muzzy said. “She’s protective.”
Despite the separation, Newport has hesitated to file formal divorce paperwork. Sitting with her mother in the Season 7 premiere, she explained the delay by saying it “still feels very raw for me” and admitted she’s “scared to death” to be alone. She defended what the marriage once meant to her, telling Muzzy: “I don’t think everybody else understands that there’s a period of time with Todd that I really loved. We’re just not in that period of time anymore.”
The estranged couple has yet to finalize their divorce.
