Angus T. Jones, 32, has been spotted in a rare Los Angeles outing, looking dramatically different from his child-star days.
The former “Two and a Half Men” actor was photographed barefoot during the daytime walk, his first public sighting in roughly a year according to reports. Jones, who was around nine when he landed the role of Jake Harper on the CBS sitcom, walked away from Hollywood more than a decade ago after a dramatic faith-driven exit.
At the height of the show’s success, Jones was reportedly earning between $250,000 and $300,000 per episode, making him one of the wealthiest child stars of his era. He starred alongside Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer until age 19, when his religious convictions abruptly ended the run.
In a 2012 YouTube video, Jones delivered a blistering assessment of the program that had made him famous. “You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can’t,” he stated. “I’m not okay with what I’m learning, what the Bible says and being on that television show.”
He pressed the point further, urging viewers to abandon the series entirely. “Please stop watching it and filling your head with filth. People say it’s just entertainment. Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to television, especially with what you watch,” he said in the video.
The fallout was swift. Jones issued an apology shortly after, with a statement shared via CNN expressing regret for any disrespect toward his colleagues. “I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed. I never intended that,” the statement read.
He emphasized that he held his co-workers in high esteem, adding that he was “grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on Two and Half Men with whom I have worked and over the past ten years who have become an extension of my family.”
By 2016, Jones had reportedly left the church that had prompted his departure from the sitcom. That same year, he sought out Chuck Lorre, the creator of “Two and a Half Men,” to personally apologize for having insulted what Lorre considered “his baby.” The reconciliation marked a notable shift from the absolutism of his earlier stance.
Jones has since maintained a minimal presence in entertainment. The same year he left the church, he joined TONITE, a media company launched by Justin Combs, son of Sean “Diddy” Combs, where he was appointed President of Entertainment. It is not believed he still holds that position.
His current professional activities remain largely unclear. In 2020, he signaled a turn toward music with a brief Instagram declaration: “I do music now, go head and get used to it loves.”
Beyond sporadic cameo appearances, Jones has effectively retired from acting. The recent Los Angeles photographs show a man far removed from the clean-cut child star who once delivered punchlines on one of television’s most-watched comedies.
