Presley Gerber opened up about his mental health battles in a candid Instagram post roughly a year before he died.
The model and only son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, 27, shared the reflection in November 2025 following a social media break. He had stepped away from posting to focus on his wellbeing during a period of personal struggle.
“It’s been a minute since I’ve posted,” he wrote via Instagram at the time. “I had to step back and take care of my own mental health for a bit. But I’m coming back soon — stronger, clearer, more intentional than ever.”
Gerber had launched a “Mental Health Mondays” movement on his platform, using his visibility to push for more open dialogue around psychological struggles. He framed the initiative as a direct response to the silence that often surrounds these issues.
“The goal is to spark real conversations about the stuff most people hide,” he wrote. “It’s been incredible seeing how far that message has spread and how many people it’s helped.”
He noted the particular resonance of continuing this work during November, which marks Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month. “I’m proud that something I created has inspired others and started a bigger movement around openness and healing,” he added. “And with November being Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, the timing couldn’t be better to keep the conversation going.”
This public candor followed other documented attempts to address his substance use. In March, Gerber traveled to Cancún, Mexico, where he underwent an alternative psychedelic treatment at a wellness clinic. He received what was described as an ibogaine “flood dose,” a protocol aimed at eliminating acute drug withdrawal symptoms.
“I faced what I had been running from, and somewhere in all of it, i started finding my way back to myself 🤍….,” he wrote via Instagram after that experience. “We shall see…. Praying it’s the last time I have to come back.”
Gerber’s final Instagram post came last month, showing him outdoors in clothing from the Vuori brand. He appeared relaxed in what would become his last public image.
He died Sunday at an undisclosed rehabilitation facility. His cause of death has not been disclosed.
Crawford had addressed family transitions in an interview published just ten days before her son’s death, discussing the experience of “empty nesting” as her children grew older.
The Gerber family has not released additional statements regarding the circumstances of Presley’s passing.
