Jessica Biel turned heads at the “Matchbox: The Movie” premiere with a daring red carpet look.
Biel, 44, arrived at Monday night’s screening in New York City wearing a Dolce & Gabbana blazer left open over her bare torso, paired with a sheer black floor-length skirt and pointed black satin pumps by the same Italian label. Stylists Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi accessorized the ensemble with Cartier Diamond Collection drop earrings valued at $135,000, each set with 41 diamonds.
The dramatic styling extended to her hair. Hairstylist Adir Abergel gave the actress waist-length extensions, a striking departure from the wavy, just-below-the-shoulders length she had maintained throughout the press tour. The transformation was temporary—by Tuesday morning, Biel’s hair had returned to its usual length and was blown straight for an appearance on the “Today” show.
For that morning program, she opted for a more conservative look: a gray Michael Kors draped wool blazer priced at $3,290, worn with matching trousers belted over a sleeveless turtleneck. She later changed into an ivory Self-Portrait silk top with an asymmetrical fringed cape and coordinating silk trousers, completing the outfit with bright red lipstick.
The “7th Heaven” alum stars opposite John Cena in the action comedy, which marks her first film role since 2017’s “Shock and Awe.” The part required extensive stunt work behind the wheel. “I did so much more than I probably should have done safely,” she told Seth Meyers on “Late Night,” crediting the stunt team with teaching her to spin a car 180 degrees.
The new driving skills made an impression on her two sons, ages 11 and 6, whom she shares with husband Justin Timberlake. “My kids are definitely excited about this movie and think I’m cool because I can do some of those things now,” she said. “But I gotta be honest, I’m not, like, ripping donuts at drop-off, you know?”
Biel’s return to the screen comes after an eight-year gap in her filmography. The Apple TV project offered her a physically demanding role that contrasted with her recent public appearances promoting the film.
