Kourtney Kardashian revealed that Kanye West once told her not to sleep with anyone before marriage.
Kourtney, 47, shared the memory during Thursday’s episode of “The Kardashians” while giving dating advice to her stepson, Landon Barker, 23. The exchange unfolded in front of her husband, Travis Barker, 50, who married the Poosh founder in 2022.
The moment came as Kourtney counseled Landon to “wait until you get married” to have sex. “That’s my advice,” she told him. “Don’t waste your energy.”
A producer then pressed Kourtney on whether she and Barker had followed that rule themselves. “No, but I remember Kanye told me, ‘I feel like God is calling me to tell you that you should not hook up with any randoms until you are with your husband,'” she recalled on the Hulu series.
West, 49, was married to Kourtney’s sister Kim Kardashian for eight years before their split. The former couple, who finalized their divorce in 2022, share four children: North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7.
Kim, 46, later addressed the breakdown of that marriage on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in October 2025. “There was just a lot of things that I wouldn’t deal with,” she said. “I didn’t like the feeling of someone talking bad about my kids, grandmother, aunts — all of those feelings,” Kim continued. “If someone feels that way, then we shouldn’t be together.”
West has since married model Bianca Censori in 2022. Kim is currently dating British racing driver Lewis Hamilton.
Kourtney and Barker’s own path to marriage began after years as neighbors and close friends. They started dating in early 2021, and Barker later described their transition to romance on Billy Corgan’s “The Magnificent Others” podcast.
“We both wanted it to happen and we knew if it did happen, it would probably be like neither of us would have a choice,” Barker explained. “We would just be overwhelmed with whatever and fall madly in love. And we did,” He added that he “already loved [Kourtney] as a friend,” which eased the shift from friendship to relationship.
The couple held multiple wedding ceremonies in 2022 and welcomed their son Rocky the following year. Kourtney is also mother to Mason, 16, Penelope, 14, and Reign, 11, from her on-and-off relationship with Scott Disick from 2006 to 2015.
Barker shares Landon and daughter Alabama, 20, with ex-wife Shanna Moakler. The drummer and Moakler were married from 2004 to 2008.
The dating advice Kourtney passed to Landon echoed a broader theme she has embraced since her high-profile romance with Barker, though she made clear she and her husband did not wait until marriage themselves. The candid disclosure on the family’s reality platform offered a rare glimpse into conversations that once took place within the extended Kardashian-West circle.
