LSU Student Allegedly Raped in ‘Horrifying’ Gunpoint Attack Inside Freshman Dorm, Cops Say

Ronald White, 21, is behind bars after LSU police say he raped a freshman student at gunpoint inside a campus dormitory study room.

The New Orleans man was booked on felony rape and firearm charges following the Friday night attack at Spruce Hall, a Baton Rouge dorm that houses roughly 400 first-year students, according to an arrest warrant obtained by The Post. Officers received the call at approximately 11:15 p.m.

The unidentified victim told responding officers she had come to the building to visit a friend. That friend later invited a male acquaintance over, and that individual brought White along, the warrant states.

Within minutes of arriving, White asked the victim to accompany him to a fourth-floor study room so the other two could have privacy, she told police. Once inside, he allegedly pulled a black pistol from his waistband and forced her to perform oral sex on him despite her repeated refusals, according to the documents.

Following the alleged assault, White instructed the victim to get a paper towel. She instead went to the building’s lobby and asked someone to contact campus police, the warrant shows.

When officers arrived, White allegedly ignored repeated commands to stop and sprinted out of the building. Police captured him hiding underneath a car parked at a nearby intersection. Officers found seven grams of marijuana on him, but no gun. The purported firearm remained unrecovered when detectives submitted the warrant Monday.

White claimed to investigators that the girl began touching him “voluntarily” and that the oral sex was consensual, documents show.

He was charged over the weekend with first-degree rape, resisting an officer, drug possession and carrying a firearm on school property. He was scheduled to appear before a judge Monday afternoon, though details of that hearing were not immediately available.

This was not White’s first run-in with LSU police. He was previously arrested in October 2024 for allegedly threatening to kill a Wendy’s employee with a gun on LSU’s campus, although that probe was “suspended” after the victim stopped cooperating.

By Monday, Spruce Hall residents expressed shock and frustration to local outlet WAFB that they had received no notification from authorities about the incident. “I’m really concerned, that would be horrifying,” one female student told the outlet, adding that she wished LSU officials were “at least saying something or putting something out there about how that’s not right or that they’re doing things to fix it.”

“Or, I guess you can’t fix that anymore, but things to help the girl and make sure accountability is taken,” she added.

“I was expecting an alert if something like that happened,” a male student said. “I just can’t believe it happened in the dorm building I’m living in.”
