Chad Lowe and his wife Kim Painter have put their Los Angeles home on the market less than three weeks after the death of their 13-year-old daughter Fiona.
The couple, who purchased the 3,239-square-foot Mar Vista property for $3.15 million in March 2025, have already accepted a prospective buyer’s offer of $3.249 million, though the sale remains contingent on certain conditions being met, according to real estate records. The Spanish-style residence features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and vaulted ceilings.

Fiona died by suicide on Sept. 29, leaving her parents and sisters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10, to grapple with an unthinkable loss. The family issued a statement through the outlet in the immediate aftermath, saying they were “deeply heartbroken” by what had happened.
“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” the family continued. “In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”

The tragedy has drawn attention to the possible role of trauma in Fiona’s final months. Music executive Mykesha Robinson, whose daughter Faith had been best friends with Fiona in elementary school, said that the young teen had been deeply affected when the family’s previous home was destroyed in the Palisades fire last year.
“Something happened when the fires happened,” Robinson said, noting that the family “lost everything.” Robinson described Fiona as a “ray of light” that “would go up and talk to anybody.”

Fiona’s older sister Mabel, 17, turned to Instagram to mourn publicly in the days following the death. “I love you so much fiona ❤️ i wish your short time here was easier and i hope your mind is at ease now,” she penned on the platform. “I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, i hope you knew just how much.”

The Lowe-Painter family has made limited public appearances since the loss. Earlier this month, they held a private celebration of life for Fiona with only family and close friends present. On October 10, the family stepped out together for their first public outing since the death, attending the star-studded wedding of Chad Lowe’s nephew Matthew Lowe, son of actor Rob Lowe.

Chad Lowe, 56, has built a decades-long career in film and television, earning an Emmy for his role on “Life Goes On” in the early 1990s and later appearing in series including “Pretty Little Liars” and “9-1-1: Lone Star.” He and Painter, a former makeup artist, married in 2010 and have raised their three daughters in Los Angeles.

The decision to list the Mar Vista home so quickly after Fiona’s death comes as the family navigates an unimaginable period of grief. The property, purchased just months ago in March, had represented a fresh start after the Palisades fire destroyed their previous residence and, according to Robinson’s account, marked a turning point in Fiona’s emotional wellbeing.
