Heidi Klum Reveals Why Her Husband Missed Her Halloween Party and Shows Off Shocking Costume

Heidi Klum has explained why her husband Tom Kaulitz skipped her annual Halloween bash.

The supermodel, 53, told Entertainment Tonight at the October 31 event that the Tokio Hotel guitarist was absent because he is currently on tour. She noted that she planned to join him on the road after the party wrapped. “My husband he couldn’t be here today because he’s on tour right now, and I’m going to join him on tour,” she said. “But he couldn’t be here today, so you know he’s always with me.”

Klum and Kaulitz, who wed in 2019, have made her Halloween extravaganzas a recurring joint project. Last year he appeared as a warrior opposite her Medusa, and the couple has previously coordinated as matching E.T. Figures. Kaulitz once said about the creative negotiations involved: “This year wasn’t that difficult, but sometimes it is. Last year we did E.T., for example, it was difficult. Like, OK, are we going to be both E.T. Or one female version? I always have to come up with something that matches.”

Despite the distance, Klum found a way to keep Kaulitz present at this year’s celebration. She posted a photo on Instagram showing a tattoo of his name on her ring finger, captioning it: “Tom I miss you.” She also used the platform to share behind-the-scenes footage of her costume’s construction.

The German-born model has built her “Queen of Halloween” reputation across 25 years of increasingly elaborate transformations that typically render her unrecognizable. For this milestone edition, she arrived at Cathédrale Restaurant at Moxy East Village in New York City from the back of a smoke-filled lorry, accompanied by assistants in blood-splattered yellow biohazard suits, full industrial respirator masks and rubber gloves.

Klum said her own anatomy sparked the concept. “I mean literally, my left hand inspired me,” she explained on the red carpet. “I looked at my hand and I was thinking, ‘How can I fit my body into this hand? There must be a way,’ and we found a way to put my body into a hand.” The result was a blown-up replica of her own hand, complete with a blood-spilled severed wrist.

The gore factor was no accident. Back in September, Klum had previewed that her look would be “very, very bloody,” She added at the time: “That’s what Halloween is all about. We go gory, and we go there.”

Klum shares four children with ex-husband Flavio Briatore.
