Chris McVeigh, an artist, writer, photographer and Lego enthusiast based in Halifax, has captured a series of photos showing the adorable chipmunks in his yard interacting with toys.
He was able to get the shots by befriending the chipmunks, who he named Molly and Billy. Of course, there was also bribery involved. Chris coaxed the animals into the perfect shot by offering them almonds.

It was a time-consuming process, but the results were worth it.
“The basic premise for this picture was that a group of stormtroopers were trying to capture a wild beast (i.e., the chipmunk), but their plan massively backfires,” writes Chris.
“Gotcha, stormtroopers!”
The next big monster movie should DEFINITELY feature a giant chipmunk.
“The figure was suspended from a wooden handle (like a marionette), allowing my sister to position it over the chipmunk while I took the pictures,” Chris explained.
“Billy disappeared last June, and I worried terribly that he’d been the victim of a predator. So I was very, very happy to see him alive and as friendly as ever over the weekend!” Chris told followers on his Flickr page.
During this shoot, Chris said, “Billy often knocked almonds into the water and immediately jumped in to rescue them.”
“You’ll pay for this, chipmunk!”
“Use the force, Billy.”
“It wasn’t hard to get Billy to approach Chewbacca; all I had to do was slip an almond into the action figure’s pre-moulded hand,” Chris said.
“The best thing about chipmunks is that they’re so focused. Once Billy understood that there was a huge mound of almonds in the truck, he came back again and again,” Chris wrote.
“Hey, we’re both furry and adorable. Can’t we just get along?”
“After filming, Molly stormed off the set, fired her stylist and demanded a fresh batch of fine Spanish almonds.”
