Heroic Cat Takes A Bullet, Saving Three-Year-Old Boy’s Life

If you think that cats just look out for themselves, think again.

This selfless feline from Pennsylvania saved a three-year-old boy’s life by taking a bullet for him.

According to Angelica Sipe, mother of the toddler, Daemire, a stray bullet went through the window of the family living room.

“It took me a second to realize what just happened. The first thing I did was check on my son and he was sound asleep. Then I saw my cat on the floor and that’s when I realized my cat was shot,” Sipe told Fox News.

The bullet went into the couch and hit Opie the cat’s head, coming out of the bottom of his neck and into his shoulder. It then richocheted around the room, lodging into a seat just inches from Daemire.

Sipe is convinced that if the cat hadn’t taken the bullet, her little boy would be dead.

Opie sustained some muscle damage from the bullet, but is otherwise doing well. He was treated at an emergency clinic and underwent surgery, where he received a drainage tube and stitches.

Because Opie’s veterinary bills are so high, Sipe has created a GoFundMe page to raise money for this heroic cat.

We hope this little furry hero spends the rest of his days in peace and happiness — he deserves it.
