This Halloween, she’s transformed her parents’ home in Southern California into the stuff of nightmares. It’ll be a brave trick or treater who knocks on the door of this terrifying house.
Who dares approach this sleeping monster with sharp teeth and six huge, unblinking eyes? Not us.
McConnell used foam-core boards to create eyes and teeth for the house, making them light, inexpensive, and easy to work with.
The talented artist, who is known for her love of all things spooky, said she was inspired by the 2006 children’s horror film Monster House in which a home comes alive as a living, breathing beast.
McConnell spent four days on the house, adding traditional jack o’lanterns, spiderwebs and giant spiders to complete the effect.
