Blink and you might think you’re seeing the King of Pop himself. Argentine performer Leo Blanco has become so physically similar to his idol Michael Jackson through an obsessive surgical transformation that onlookers frequently do a double take. Recently, the 22-year-old superfan shared striking before photos on social media that reveal just how dramatically his appearance has changed over the years following multiple procedures.
Blanco has undergone more than 11 surgeries and numerous cosmetic procedures since beginning his surgical journey at just 15 years old. The extensive procedures have included two otoplasty surgeries to reshape his ears, three liposuction surgeries, four rhinoplasty surgeries, and injections of hyaluronic acid and botox to create more exaggerated cheekbones. In interviews conducted in 2019, Blanco estimated he had spent over $30,000 on the procedures, though other reports cite figures as high as $44,000. His obsession with achieving Jackson’s look has driven him to perform as a professional tribute act throughout Argentina.
The performer has been candid about his escalating addiction to cosmetic enhancement. “It’s impossible to have just one or two surgeries done, you want more and more,” he explained in an interview at the time. Blanco emphasizes that he views his body as a canvas for artistic expression. “I like to think that I am a paste, something that I can mould, something that I can decide about, not satisfy myself with the face that destiny gave me. I can decide how to live and look like. Every surgery is the next step to my objective,” he said in an interview with Barcroft TV.

His connection to Jackson runs deep. Blanco began watching and studying the legendary performer as a young child and became obsessed with capturing every aspect of his idol’s aesthetic. “Michael Jackson is much more than an artist for me. I watched Michael constantly, I listened to him, I felt him. I felt his essence so this way or the other I absorbed his way of expression, his aesthetic preferences and it was very painful for me to look different than him, so eventually, I said, ‘Why not?'” Blanco explained.
He has transformed his entire life around his Jackson obsession. Blanco has even named his home “Neverland,” after Jackson’s famous estate. He has made a living as a professional Jackson impersonator and continues to perform regularly throughout Argentina, where he has built a substantial fanbase. Recently, Blanco announced “The Michael Jackson Live Experience” at the Canning Theatre in Argentina, a show described as “a monumental show celebrating the universe of the King of Pop” with “world-class stage production.” He maintains a significant social media presence with over 500,000 Instagram followers who follow his performances and updates.
Despite his transformation gaining him admirers and professional opportunities, the extensive surgical modifications have caused concern within his family. Blanco’s mother has expressed deep worry about his relentless pursuit of more procedures. “I approve of him being a fan of Michael Jackson and impersonating him, but the plastic surgeries?” she said. “I am worried because he talks about surgeries so relaxed as if he was going to a hairdresser, but I fear a lot that he is going to die in one of the surgeries.”
The conflict between Blanco’s ambitions and his parents’ concerns has become a defining feature of his journey. He has described the situation as a constant battle: “It’s a constant fight between what my parents want, what I want and what the surgeons are willing to do.” Some surgeons have refused to perform additional procedures on him, citing his young age as a reason to decline further facial surgeries like facelifts.
Yet Blanco remains undeterred. In 2019, he stated plainly that there were “no limits” to his desire for cosmetic procedures. He has indicated plans for additional surgeries on his nose and chin to continue refining his appearance. According to Blanco, “Each surgery takes me closer to my objective” of becoming the world’s best and most authentic-looking Michael Jackson impersonator. His transformation stands as a striking example of fan devotion taken to surgical extremes, illustrating how personal obsession combined with modern cosmetic medicine can reshape identity in dramatic and irreversible ways.
