Amal Clooney delivered on her husband’s promise of a “very nice dress.”
The human-rights lawyer, 48, stepped out Thursday night in Venice, Italy, in a metallic fringe minidress and chandelier earrings for a celebratory dinner with George Clooney, 64, at Ristorante da Ivo. The outing came one night after the “Oceans Eleven” actor received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the 2026 Venice Film Festival.

George had previewed their plans during his acceptance speech Wednesday evening. “We’re going to go find a fun place to have dinner, my wife and I,” he said from the stage. “She’s going to be wearing a very nice dress so we’ll have to be careful where we go.”
Amal chose a strapless Caroline’s Couture look covered in aqua and silver fringe that swished with every step. She paired the flashy minidress with statement diamond earrings, a metallic clutch, and matching metallic heeled sandals.
George held her hand as she exited their water taxi, dressed in a deep navy suit and black shirt.

The couple’s choice of restaurant carried personal history. Ristorante da Ivo ranks among their longtime favorites and served as the location of George’s bachelor party in 2014. Earlier in the week, they had also dined at the venue where they married.
The pair will mark their 12th wedding anniversary later this month, adding another milestone to an already eventful trip.
For Wednesday’s ceremony itself, Amal had opted for a black Haider Ackermann column dress accessorized with $375,000 worth of diamond Cartier jewelry.

The Clooneys are regular fixtures at the Venice Film Festival, but this year’s appearance carried extra weight given the career-honoring award. George’s filmography spans decades of leading roles, from the “Ocean’s” franchise to “Syriana,” for which he won an Academy Award.

The lifetime achievement recognition places him among a select group of filmmakers and actors celebrated by the Biennale. Past recipients have included figures such as Pedro Almodóvar and Jodie Foster.
The couple’s Thursday night departure from the restaurant drew paparazzi attention, with photographers capturing their coordinated exit via water taxi. Venice’s canal-based transit has long been a signature element of festival season glamour.

The Clooneys will continue their anniversary celebrations in Italy through the coming weeks.
