Andrew Tate appears to have posted an unusual message from jail, even though his lawyer has said he is being held under protective conditions.
Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, were taken into custody in Miami after being arrested on July 18. Their detention comes alongside additional charges filed by the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
According to the CPS, Andrew faces seven further rape charges in addition to existing allegations involving sex trafficking and indecent images of a child. Andrew Tate also faces three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and 19 additional charges for offenses relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.
Tristan, meanwhile, has been accused of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. Prosecutors allege those offences took place between July 2010 and August 2017. In total, the brothers face 59 criminal charges in the UK.
The brothers were seen being detained on a street alongside members of their staff. Both Andrew and Tristan have consistently denied all allegations.
While they remain in custody awaiting the next stage of proceedings, Andrew’s X account appears to have shared messages with his followers. According to their attorney, Joseph McBride, Tate communicates with his legal team during attorney visits and those conversations are later shared publicly on social media because the brothers do not have direct access to their accounts while incarcerated.
That development came after the brothers’ representative, Joe McBride, claimed in a post of his own that they were being kept in a “5×12 cell as political prisoners on American soil, in solitary confinement”.
Despite that, Andrew’s account appeared to publish two separate posts.
The first, shared on the evening of August 4, read: “The corpse of your previous self is the necessary stepping stone to higher callings.”
A second message followed in the early hours of the morning and said: “I lay awake unamused by the whispers of ghosts. They speak taunts in my ear as I stare out the window of my cell. As I didn’t react, It seems they’ve moved on to the cell next door, where I hear a man screaming in terror throughout the night.”

As Andrew’s account appeared to give a live update from jail, McBride has also continued posting from his own account, alleging that the brothers are being mistreated because of their political beliefs. A federal judge ruled on August 3 that the brothers must remain in custody for two more weeks, with a detention hearing scheduled for August 13 to determine whether they can be released on bond while extradition proceedings continue.
McBride claimed: “They are also being hunted by a despotic UK government that wants to bury them in a foreign prison for the rest of their lives.”
He added: “We met with them today. They are dressed in orange jumpsuits like Al Qaeda terrorists at Guantanamo Bay. Two innocent men, charged with nothing in America, dressed like enemy combatants.”
McBride has previously argued that the brothers are innocent of the 59 offences alleged against them, saying that “the world knows Andrew and Tristan are innocent”.
He also criticized the UK, writing: “Their enemies know it best of all. That is exactly why they have been attacked.
“We are confident that once a competent judge sees the facts, and once the Department of Justice confronts this egregious abuse of its own authority, Andrew and Tristan Tate will walk free. America does not do Britain’s political dirty work.”
