Artists Fill Naturally Occurring Holes In Lumber With Shells To Create Beautiful Furniture

If there’s one thing that Woodcraft By Design of New Zealand can teach us, it’s that flaws should be enhanced, rather than hidden.

This is how artists of this Auckland-based creative woodworking studio handle the natural imperfections of raw lumber.

They create gorgeous mosaics by filling the holes with natural materials, such as stones, shells, leaves, and even bugs.

The natural materials are sealed in with clear resin, a durable material that dries hard.
