Behati Prinsloo has announced that she is pregnant.
After rumors started circulating last week, the 34-year-old model announced her third pregnancy with husband Adam Levine on Instagram on Thursday, September 15.
After Behati was spotted out during the Labor Day weekend sporting a baby bulge, sources made the joyous news public.
On Thursday, Behati posted a photo to Instagram in which her baby belly was visible through a crop top.
Additionally, Adam and Behati are parents to daughters Gio, 4, and Dusty, 5.
While out with lunch with Levine in Santa Barbara on Saturday, September 3, Prinsloo made her bump debut. She donned a flowy blue silk midi dress with floral designs for the occasion and a messy bun.
The model previously expressed her and Levine’s desire to have five children together, and the pregnancy announcement comes after those remarks.
“I do also want five kids. We want a big family,” she added. “Who knows, we’re leaving it up to fate and just what happens. What will happen, will happen. So there’s no limits to it.”
Behati has also walked the runways of upscale fashion. She has walked in fashion week shows for brands including Alexander Wang, Versace, Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang, and others, in addition to Victoria’s Secret.
Levine initially got in touch with Prinsloo through a friend while seeking a model for one of his music videos. Even though she could not accept the position, she and Levine continued to correspond through email for “weeks and weeks,” and they finally went on a date while she was in Los Angeles.
She admitted that “it was kind of love at first sight.”
In 2012, the two went to their first event, the GQ’s Gentlemen’s Ball, in New York City.
In July 2014, Prinsloo and Levine exchanged vows in a small Los Cabos, Mexico ceremony.
As for having a family, Prinsloo previously said, “I think for both of us, we’re just so preoccupied with becoming a family and having a family — seeing this next stage in our lives.”
Prinsloo was reared in Grootfontein, Namibia, after being born in South Africa. She comes from a “small village.”
“My dad’s a minister, and my mom runs a bed and breakfast,” she added. “I’m an only child and pretty much did kid stuff, gymnastics, track, riding, field hockey. I hung out on my friend’s farm a lot.”
