Despite being typically aggressive and territorial animals, a swan rescued by a TV host showed its gratitude by giving him a very special swan hug.

Host of Born To Explore Richard Wiese helped rescue the swan, which had become trapped in a chain-link fence.
Planning to take it to a swan rescue center, Richard was nervous of picking up a wild swan — they might be pretty but they can be “peck the heck out of you”, according to Richard.
But instead of rearing up to attack, the swan seemed to know it was in caring hands and gave Richard a big cuddle with its long neck.
“When I put it next to me I could feel its heart beating and it just relaxed its neck and put it around mine,” explained Richard.
In fact, it wouldn’t stop cuddling him for ages.
This swan definitely knew it had made a human best friend and showed no signs of letting go.
“It’s a wonderful moment when an animal totally trusts you,” added Richard.
The swan is now recovering, cared for by member of the Royal Swan Foundation and Swan Lifeline.
