It sounds counterintuitive, but if you want to be rich, you’re probably better off skipping a university education. Why?
#1. University will leave you in massive amounts of debt.
Before you even start to make money with your new degree, you’re going to have to go into massive amounts of debt, or spend a ton for it. If you’re lucky enough to land a good job, you’ll spend a few years paying back loans. But in many cases, students with degrees take jobs beneath them because of a competitive job market and financial pressures. Perhaps you would have been better off taking a course and working your way up?
#2. Formal education drains your passion.
Here’s the thing. Most successful people do the things they love and the money then follows. They are driven by a deep desire and they create a map for their life. They look at the short and long term plan of their life and keep their eye on the end result. They work hard and go for what they want. School consumes you so you’re unable to figure out what it is you love to do. You graduate with a degree that you may not even want to use. This is not the way to make crazy money.
#3. Original ideas are the money makers.
Look at the wealthiest people in the world. Steve Jobs, Ingvar Kamprad (the founder of IKEA), and Micheal Dell (the founder of Dell computers). While they all went to university, they dropped out to pursue their dreams. When it comes to making millions, having a vision and believing in it is more advantageous than a degree. Pioneers and visionaries have what it takes to think outside the box and make wealth.
#4. A positive mindset creates success, not a university.
When a positive person foregoes college and boldly goes after their own dreams, that’s the first step to making them come true. Someone with a millionaire mindset doesn’t deviate from their goals. They consistently hone in on positivity and believe they can have it all. Going to university isn’t necessary for someone who already knows where they’re going.
#5. School makes you leave your own path.
School takes a lot of energy and as you focus on passing courses and making ends meet, you lose valuable time you could be going after your own dreams. Not only are you not moving forward towards your full potential but you’re being held back, too.
#6. You may get a job, but your boss won’t make you wealthy.
The knowledge and degree you get from school will get you a job, and maybe even a decent paying job. But it’s still not going to make you wealthy. The system isn’t set up that way. So while you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get a job, you’re only going to make the person you work for richer.
#7. School will make it impossible to live within your means.
Any financial advisor will tell you to live within your means if you want to save money. This means not maxing out your credit card or spending more money than you earn. During the years that you go to school, you’ll incur an insane amount of debt which is one of the biggest no-no’s for those who want to get rich.
