Brad Pitt reportedly didn’t anticipate receiving any Father’s Day gifts from his children this year, given the ongoing tension between them.
Pitt is a father to six children with his former wife, Angelina Jolie.
The duo shares three biological children: 18-year-old Shiloh, and 15-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne.
In addition to their biological children, they have three adopted children: Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Zahara, 19.
Following the divorce between Jolie and Pitt, the “Fight Club” actor has reportedly become estranged from his children, stemming from abuse allegations made by Jolie, which Pitt has consistently denied.
According to reports, the children seem to have sided with their mother since the split, to the extent that some of them have even dropped Pitt’s surname from their names.
Notably, Shiloh recently celebrated her 18th birthday by filing a petition to legally remove her father’s last name, a move that reportedly left Pitt feeling “upset” and reminded him that he’s “lost his children,” a source claimed.
Similarly, Vivienne is believed to have dropped the Pitt surname, while Maddox began using only Jolie in 2021.
Zahara also adopted ‘Zahara Marley Jolie’ as her name when she joined a sorority at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, last November, according to The Daily Express US.
Given these developments, it was reported that Pitt did not expect any gestures from his children for Father’s Day, which occurred yesterday (June 16).
A close source, who has known the “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” actor for twenty years, shared with a news outlet: “Brad isn’t expecting to be opening any gifts or taking a phone call from one of his kids on Father’s Day.
“Saying he’s sad over this would be a huge understatement. He’s completely devastated that none of them seem even remotely interested in continuing any kind of relationship with him. How would any parent feel?”
UNILAD has reached out to Pitt’s representatives for comment.
This news comes after Pax wrote a harsh post about his father on Instagram in 2020.
Posting a photo of Pitt at the Oscars, Pax wrote on his Story: “Happy Father’s Day to this world class a**hole. You time and again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person.”
“You have no consideration or empathy towards your four youngest children, who tremble in fear when in your presence,” Pax continued.
