Brooklyn Beckham has appeared to reference the long-running tensions within the Beckham family in a new DoorDash advert tied to the FIFA World Cup 2026, following reports that his younger sister Harper turned up at his Los Angeles home unannounced.
The 27-year-old, the eldest child of David and Victoria Beckham, appears in DoorDash’s World Cup campaign, which is part of the company’s broader push as an official tournament supporter for FIFA World Cup 2026.
In the ad, Brooklyn speaks directly to viewers and says:
“You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home.”
He then laughs before adding:
“It’s a long story.”
Brooklyn then tosses his tickets onto a coffee table, before the advert flashes the line:
“It’s complicated. More soon.”
The timing of the campaign drew immediate attention because it arrived just days after reports about fresh Beckham family tension involving Harper.
According to earlier reporting, David and Victoria’s youngest child was photographed outside Brooklyn’s home as she apparently tried to hand-deliver a letter to him and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.
Harper, 14, was wearing the same outfit she had worn earlier that Friday, June 13, when she attended her father’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in Los Angeles.
It was later reported that Brooklyn and Nicola were not at the property at the time and were instead believed to be in New York.
A representative for Brooklyn and Nicola later alleged that the visit had been staged for photographers, saying:
“That photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all – this was choreographed for the cameras.”
Sources close to David and Victoria Beckham strongly denied that suggestion, insisting Harper had simply been trying to see her brother while the family was in Los Angeles for David’s Walk of Fame celebrations.
The latest development comes after Brooklyn made a series of explosive claims earlier this year about his relationship with his family and their treatment of Nicola.
In a lengthy Instagram statement in January 2026, he wrote:
“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,”
He also said:
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”

So far, David and Victoria Beckham have not publicly responded to those claims. Their representatives have previously been approached for comment.
Brooklyn and Nicola married on April 9, 2022, in a lavish ceremony held at her family’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida, with around 500 guests attending. The wedding took place two years after their engagement.
Not long after the ceremony, reports began circulating about serious friction between Nicola and Victoria.
According to Page Six:
‘the build-up to the wedding was horrendous’
The outlet also reported that they:
‘can’t stand each other and don’t talk’.
Some reports suggested the disagreement stemmed in part from Nicola choosing a Valentino wedding dress rather than one designed by Victoria’s fashion label, although those rumours later appeared to lose momentum.
By March 2023, things looked more positive publicly, with the family posing together at Victoria’s Paris Fashion Week show.
But by 2025 and into 2026, reports of strain intensified, with Brooklyn and Nicola reportedly missing a number of family milestones, including David’s 50th birthday celebrations and other public events.
In July 2025, Brooklyn and Nicola unfollowed Romeo and Cruz on social media, with Romeo and Cruz doing the same in return.
Later that year, David and Victoria were reportedly absent from the Peltz-Beckhams’ vow renewal.
In December 2025, reports claimed Brooklyn had also stopped following his parents, and that they no longer followed him. Cruz responded on Instagram Stories to dispute the suggestion that his parents had unfollowed Brooklyn voluntarily.
He wrote:
“NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son … Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked … as did I.”
Then, in January 2026, it was reported that Brooklyn sent a legal letter to his parents requesting that any contact go through his lawyer. That same month, Victoria was said to have breached that request by liking one of his Instagram posts about roast chicken.
On January 19, Brooklyn shared another dramatic statement on Instagram Stories, alleging that his parents had tried to damage his marriage, had controlled much of his life, and had prioritised “Brand Beckham” above everything else.
When Brooklyn later turned 27, David marked the occasion with a public birthday message that read:
“27 Today. Happy Birthday Bust. We love you.”
David shared a childhood photo of his son and tagged Victoria in the post, though he was reportedly unable to tag Brooklyn because he had been blocked.
Brooklyn did not publicly respond.
More recently, the family feud has continued to play out across reports, social media activity and carefully worded statements from both sides, with Harper’s brief visit to Brooklyn’s home becoming the latest flashpoint.
A representative for Brooklyn and Nicola responded with the following statement:
“That photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all – this was choreographed for the cameras.”
