The “Full House” alum, 49, grew emotional during Tuesday’s episode of The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast as she revealed the barrage of negative comments she faces about how she speaks. “I get a lot of criticism for my voice,” she tearfully began, while reaching for a box of tissues. “People always comment [on] how annoying my voice is.”

Candace Cameron Bure tears up over haters’ ‘constant’ criticism of her biggest insecurity

Bure said the attacks have been severe enough that viewers have actively avoided her content because of it. The actress even claimed she’s read comments saying, “‘I turned off my TV because her voice is so annoying.'” She admitted the criticism has become impossible to ignore, adding, “It’s a lot. It’s the one criticism I constantly hear is my voice.”

The “Fuller House” star found an unexpected source of validation that helped counter the years of negativity. Bure said that reading Bible verses on her social media pages has given her more confidence about her voice. She shared that she’s received an outpouring of supportive messages from followers who appreciate her spiritual content.

“I’ve never had more people say to me, ‘I love to hear you read the Bible. You make the Bible come alive for me. Will you keep reading the bible, please? I love the sound of your voice,'” she shared.

Bure found profound meaning in this turnaround, viewing it as a form of redemption for the very feature that had caused her pain. “It feels so redemptive that, like, God’s using the very thing that glorifies him and the thing that’s brought me pain and then be rewarded for it,” she continued. “Not in a personal way rewarded. But people like the sound of my voice when I read the Bible. So I’m like, ‘This is amazing.'”

The realization of this full-circle moment made her extra emotional during the recording. “I’m crying because I just got really self-conscious of my voice because that’s what you’re listening to,” Bure explained. “But I have a podcast and we’re sharing Jesus.”

She concluded the segment by reaffirming her mission behind the platform. “And that’s what my heart is. My heart is just to bring people one step closer to Jesus,” Bure said.

In the viral moment that preceded this emotional podcast confession, Bure has spent decades in the public eye since debuting as D.J. Tanner on “Full House” in 1987. She has built a career spanning acting, producing, and hosting, while becoming increasingly vocal about her Christian faith across her platforms. The mom of three has repeatedly faced online scrutiny throughout her time in the spotlight, including last year when she hit back at social media trolls who body-shamed her bikini-clad Instagram upload. Initially, Bure deleted the snap because “the comments became flooded with people discussing [her] body.” However, just days later, she uploaded another skin-baring photo showing off her midriff.

Bure’s podcast, which she co-hosts with Madison Prewett Troutt, regularly tackles topics around faith, relationships, and navigating life as a Christian woman in the public eye. The show has become a central platform for her to connect directly with her audience and address the challenges of maintaining her beliefs while facing constant online criticism.

Bure is scheduled to take her podcast on tour this fall with live shows in four cities starting November 20.
