Chilling Ring camera footage has surfaced of Ronald Williams screaming incoherently days before he killed his family.
The three-minute clip, captured from a neighbor’s device on Aug. 7, shows Williams, 53, approaching his truck outside his Winfield, Kansas, home, entering the vehicle, and packing items while shouting nonsensical vulgarities. Much of the audio is censored, but several phrases cut through clearly.
“My cousin,” Williams can be heard yelling. “Kill my cousin.”
The rant escalates with further threats. “I’m ’bout to f–k you up,” he shouts. “You better believe that.” At one point, he climbs into his truck mid-rant without breaking stride. A second camera angle captures the registered sex offender looming over a much smaller figure and a child as he continues his frantic packing, repeating, “when we went to Oklahoma.”
The video was recorded just days before Williams gunned down his wife, Kelly George, 44, and their four children around 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. The victims were identified as Carol Williams, 9; Ronald Williams Jr., 7; Sarah Williams, 5; and Kelly Magee-Williams, 3.
After the murders, Williams called 911 himself. He told dispatchers what he had done and that he “intended to kill himself,” investigators said. Police swarmed the property around 11 a.m. A single gunshot rang out as authorities arrived. They found six people with bullet wounds.
“It is believed Williams Sr. Killed the five family members prior to placing the 911 call, and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound shortly after law enforcement arrived,” the Kansas Bureau of Investigation said in a statement.
Williams was convicted of attempted indecent liberties with a 15-year-old child in 1998. His criminal record extended far beyond that single offense. His rap sheet included felony charges for drugs, battery, assault on a law enforcement officer, burglary, attempted rape, and kidnapping, mostly within the Kansas City metro area, according to KCTV and public records.
The frequency of police contact with the household was staggering. Officers were called to the Williams residence roughly two dozen times since September 2024, KAKE reported. The nature of those calls has not been fully detailed, but the pattern suggests a household in chronic crisis.
In the viral moment that preceded the massacre, the Ring footage captures a man already unraveling. The presence of children in the frame during his rant, the references to Oklahoma, the fixation on a cousin — all now read as harbingers in retrospect. Whether anyone who viewed the footage at the time recognized its gravity remains unclear.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation did not immediately respond to requests for comment from The Post.
