Aran Murphy, 19, is stepping into the spotlight with a major HBO role — and fans can’t get over how much he looks and sounds like his famous father.
The teenager walked the red carpet in London last Friday to promote his part in the upcoming series “Youth,” and photos from the event quickly exploded across social media. Commenters flooded the posts with remarks about his uncanny resemblance to Cillian Murphy, 50, the Oscar-winning star of “Oppenheimer” and “Peaky Blinders.”

The similarities go deeper than appearance. Cillian shares Aran and older brother Malachy, 20, with wife Yvonne McGuinness. The couple, married since 2004, have deliberately kept their sons out of the Hollywood glare. Both boys were born in London, but the family relocated to Dublin in 2015 to reconnect with Cillian’s Irish roots and extended family.
“They’re really good boys. We have a laugh,” Cillian said UK in 2023. “We don’t do ‘Dad’s Movie Night’, but they like some of my films. They say all my films are really intense.”
That normal upbringing appears to have stuck. While Aran is now embracing public attention for his work, he does so with the grounded demeanor that seems to run in the family.
