This Frog Was Just Discovered In Costa Rica, And It Looks Just Like Kermit

Costa Rica. Deep in the recesses of the jungle canopy, Kermit’s doppelganger has just emerged from hiding. Have a look. The lime green skin. The ping-pong ball eyes. He could be the muppet’s stunt double.

Hyalinobatrachium dianae was discovered by Brian Kubicki in the Talamanca mountains — it is the first new species of glass frog to be discovered in Costa Rica in over 40 years. Its underside is translucent and all of its anatomy, down to its beating heart, is visible from below.

Kermit can’t believe his eyes.

More muppet lookalikes have yet to be found.
