Details of Angelina Jolie’s accusations against Brad Pitt have been revealed in a court document from 2022, which was circulated online.
Following the actress’s 2016 divorce filing, speculation was rampant about the sudden split until abuse allegations emerged, leaving the public taken aback.
Jolie claims that on September 14, 2016, she and her children experienced an assault by Pitt on a plane, prompting FBI involvement.
The document, shared on Reddit, outlines the incidents of that day and explains why the “Tomb Raider” actress felt compelled to end her two-year marriage.
Currently, the ex-couple is embroiled in a contentious legal dispute over their former joint venture, a winery, with Pitt accusing Jolie of breaching ‘contractual rights’ by selling her stake in Château Miraval without his consent.
In a countersuit, Jolie’s legal team argued that they had attempted discussions with Pitt’s representatives regarding the sale of her share, but Pitt insisted on a ‘nondisclosure agreement that would have legally restricted her from talking outside of court about Pitt’s physical and emotional abuse of her and their children.’
The situation has since escalated.
The 2022 document on Reddit includes Jolie’s allegations of abuse, stating that ‘Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face’ and ‘grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her’ during an encounter on the aircraft.
The document noted that Pitt criticized Jolie for being ‘too deferential’ to their kids before pulling her into the bathroom and attacking her.
It states: “Pitt grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her, and then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again before pushing her into the bathroom wall.”
“Pitt then punched the ceiling of the plane numerous times, prompting Jolie to leave the bathroom.”
Pitt allegedly tried to get physical with one of the children who defended Jolie.
It continued: “When one of the children verbally defended Jolie, Pitt lunged at his own child and Jolie grabbed him from behind to stop him.”
It further explained: “To get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backwards into the airplane’s seats injuring Jolie’s back and elbow.
“The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face. Some of the children pleaded with Pitt to stop. They were all frightened. Many were crying.”
The Reddit community reacted with shock and dismay to these revelations.
One person speculated: “And I really doubt this was the first incident, just the worst incident.”
Another commented: “the fact that every single one of his daughters dropped his last name is very telling.”
Vanity Fair reported that Jolie was the anonymous plaintiff in the 2016 lawsuit, claiming to an FBI agent that Pitt ‘physically and verbally assaulted’ her and their kids.
Nonetheless, the agent chose not to press criminal charges.
As these allegations resurface in their legal battle over the winery, Jolie’s lawyer emphasized that she never desired these circumstances.
Her team stated: “His [Pitt’s] actions harmed Angelina and their children and are central to this case.
“But I want to again emphasize that Angelina never wanted any of this.”
Pitt has firmly denied the accusations of abuse or any incident on the plane, with his lawyer, Anne Kiley, stating: “Brad has owned everything he’s responsible for from day one—unlike the other side—but he’s not going to own anything he didn’t do.
“He has been on the receiving end of every type of personal attack and misrepresentation.
“Thankfully, the various public authorities the other side has tried to use against him over the past six years have made their own independent decisions.
“Brad will continue to respond in court as he has consistently done.”
