Dave Coulier reunited with his “Full House” castmates over the weekend at The Nostalgia Con in Orlando, Florida, marking a celebratory moment six months after he announced he was in remission from two separate cancer diagnoses.

On Saturday, August 8, the 66-year-old actor appeared alongside John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber for a Full House panel. During his remarks to the crowd, Coulier shared positive news about his health, telling attendees, “I feel great,” and adding that doctors “don’t see anything, which is fantastic.” He seized the moment to urge fans to prioritize early detection, saying, “I just want to encourage all of you — after going through this, it is a life-changer — early detection is everything. So please talk to your doctors, get checked, get all those exams you can get.”
The reunion turned lighthearted when the cast filmed a playful backstage video for TikTok, dancing along to C+C Music Factory’s 1990 hit “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now).” In the clip, the five actors stood in a line and moved their heads rhythmically to the beat before breaking into coordinated dance moves. Stamos captioned the video with a joke about the physical effort involved: “Threw our necks out for this.”
The reunion comes more than two years into Coulier’s cancer journey. He was first diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma in November 2024 after experiencing what he initially thought was a head cold. The diagnosis came as a shock. “I felt like I had been punched in the stomach because it never happens to you,” he said at the time. “You always hear about it happening to someone else.” He underwent six rounds of chemotherapy and was declared cancer-free by March 2025.
However, his health took another unexpected turn. In December 2025, Coulier revealed he had been diagnosed with a second, unrelated cancer. He was found to have p16 squamous carcinoma, a type of head and neck cancer at the base of his tongue. Coulier said doctors believed the condition may have stemmed from an HPV virus he contracted up to 30 years ago that may have “activated and turned into a carcinoma.” Despite the shock of a second diagnosis, he emphasized that the tongue cancer was “very treatable” with a curability rate of approximately 90 percent.
He went on to undergo 35 rounds of targeted radiation therapy, which were completed on December 31, 2025. In February 2026, he announced on “Good Morning America” that scans had confirmed he was in remission from both cancers, describing the experience as a “roller-coaster ride” of “two different cancers in two years.”
The toll of his cancer treatments has been visible. In May, Coulier shared an Instagram video explaining that he had lost 45 pounds due to the side effects of extensive radiation. “I haven’t been able to eat solid food in months,” he said in the video, noting that his voice and appearance had also been affected. “What you’re seeing is the side effects of extensive radiation that I went through for carcinoma in my throat.”
Throughout his health journey, Coulier has credited his wife, Melissa, and his Full House castmates with providing crucial support. He previously revealed that John Stamos had visited him in Michigan, wore a bald cap in solidarity, and visited him while also dealing with COVID. “He’s my brother,” Coulier said of Stamos. “He wore a bald cap, and when he came around the corner, dressed like that, I dropped to the floor laughing.”
Coulier has also used his platform to encourage others to prioritize their health. In his February announcement, he said, “I never wanted to be the poster boy for cancer, believe me, but now I feel like I can encourage people to get those prostate exams and mammograms and just talk to your doctors and get ahead of this.” He emphasized that even while in remission, early detection remains paramount. “Because even though I’m in remission, I feel like cancer is always in the rear-view mirror,” he said. “So early detection really means everything.”
The Saturday reunion at Nostalgia Con also marked the show’s approach to its 40th anniversary since Full House first aired in 1987. The cast spent the day signing autographs, meeting fans, and celebrating the sitcom’s enduring legacy. For Coulier, the appearance represented not just a nostalgic gathering, but a public affirmation of his recovery and a chance to inspire others facing similar health challenges.
