Mark Bustos is a hair stylist in New York that spends his Sundays walking the city’s streets giving haircuts to the poorest and most vulnerable members of society – the homeless.
Bustos had the idea after visiting his family in the Phillippines back in 2012. After seeing the poverty among many local children, he had hired a barber to give them haircuts.
Bustos says that his most memorable “client” in NY was a man named Jemar Banks; “He didn’t have much to say throughout the whole process, until after I showed him what he looked like when I was done… The first thing he said to me was, ‘Do you know anyone that’s hiring?’”
