Fans worried about Hawk Tuah girl after spotting detail on her social media

Followers of social media personality Haliey Welch, known online as the Hawk Tuah girl, have expressed concern after noticing a troubling aspect on her social media accounts.

Welch gained fame earlier this year with her viral ‘hawk tuah spit on that thang’ video. Following this, she ventured into the cryptocurrency sector by launching her own meme coin, $HAWK.

Unfortunately, the coin’s value crashed dramatically just 20 minutes after its launch. It dropped from a peak of $490 million to only $41 million, causing significant financial losses for some fans who had invested their ‘entire life’s savings’.

This has led to accusations from investors that Welch and her team executed a rug pull. A rug pull involves the creators of a cryptocurrency offloading their assets, leading to a sharp decline in value, leaving investors with devalued coins.

Investors who lost money have sought legal action, filing a complaint in court on December 19. The legal document alleges that the lawsuit “arises from the unlawful promotion and sale of the Hawk Tuah cryptocurrency memecoin, known as the ‘$HAWK’ token (the ‘Token’ or ‘$HAWK’), which Defendants offered and sold to the public without proper registration”.

Welch has refuted these claims, defending her and her team’s actions in a live stream on X several weeks ago.

“Hawkanomics: Team hasn’t sold one token and not 1 KOL was given 1 free token,” she tweeted in a repeated message.

“We tried to stop snipers as best we could through high fee’s in the start of launch on @MeteoraAG. Fees have now been dropped.”

Two weeks have passed since the cryptocurrency plummeted, and Welch’s online absence has only heightened fans’ worries about her well-being.

Supporters of Welch have noted the absence of new podcast episodes from her, further fueling concern.

“Haliey Welch, aka Hawk Tuah Girl, has now been gone for 2 weeks and hasn’t dropped any episodes of her Talk Tuah podcast since ‘going to sleep’ after rug-pulling millions in a memecoin,” one user noted on X.

Another user speculated, “Do you really believe she was responsible for the rug pull? Isn’t it more likely that the people that dragged her into this were the ones that knew exactly what they were doing and she just happened to be the fall guy?”

Additionally, a third fan expressed concern: “I hope hawk tuah is doing okay.”
