Matt Rahmani has revealed the final text exchange he shared with his wife Allison before the Long Island mother of four died in a backyard pool crash.
The grieving husband, 39, said that Allison Rahmani, 40, a beloved Nassau County teacher, had spent more than a year and a half hand-making a prayer shawl bag for him. On Aug. 21, he sent her a photo of the finished piece to express his gratitude.
“I’m walking into God being like fire,” he texted her that day. “I’m feeling so good.”

“That was literally the last interaction I had with my wife,” Matt Rahmani told the outlet. “It was this little banter, which was so emblematic of our relationship.”
Sources close to the family believe Allison likely suffered a medical episode before losing control of her white SUV and crashing into the family’s swimming pool in Hewlett. She managed to call for help but died while being rushed to the hospital.
Authorities have officially ruled her death a tragic accident. Because there is no active criminal investigation and no suspicion of foul play, there are no legal grounds for a court-ordered autopsy.
The exact circumstances surrounding her death will likely remain a mystery due to the family’s Orthodox Jewish traditions, a relative told The Post outside the family’s home in August. Under Orthodox Jewish law, burials must take place as quickly as possible, and autopsies are generally forbidden as they are viewed as a desecration of the body.
Upon learning his wife had crashed into the pool, Matt immediately recited a prayer for her safety and health. “Please watch over my wife and children. Keep them healthy, safe, happy, and close to you,” he said in the prayer. “Please give me the strength to handle whatever challenges come my way today. Help me not to worry about things I can’t control. Remind me that everything is ultimately in your hands.”
He admitted to feeling “conflicted” about reciting those words — only to learn shortly afterward that his wife had passed away. He now recites the same prayer every day.

Mourners gathered to remember Allison during a funeral service at Boulevard-Riverside Chapels on Aug. 22. The same day, she had been scheduled to leave for a romantic Paris getaway with Matt.
