Florida
Florida now has more than 269,000 total cases of the coronavirus, according to the state Health Department.

The Florida Department of Health said the state has breached the 200,000-mark with 200,111 confirmed coronavirus cases recorded. There have also been 29 deaths since the pandemic began.

On Sunday, health officials added 10,059 positive cases. This after hitting its highest daily single-day total for positive cases on Friday with 11,458 infections.

Florida has the third-highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases in America. New York has 397,131 cases while California has 251,236 cases and 6,330 deaths as of Saturday’s figures.

Rapidly increasing infection rates puts a strain on the state’s healthcare system. Hospitals are feeling the brunt of the pandemic with ICU bed capacity rapidly dwindling.

As of Sunday morning, only 21.23 percent of the state’s 6,063 adult ICU beds were available.
