Gal Gadot has revealed she has never received Tom Cruise’s famous holiday cake.
The Wonder Woman star, 41, made the admission during a recent appearance on The Armchair Expert podcast with host Dax Shepard, where the pair discussed Cruise’s legendary annual Christmas tradition of sending out hundreds of bespoke white chocolate coconut bundt cakes to Hollywood insiders.
When Shepard asked whether she had ever made the exclusive recipient list, Gadot shook her head and responded with surprise about the tradition itself.
“What cake? He makes cakes?”
Shepard explained that Cruise “sends the same cake to everyone — most of the people he’s worked with,” prompting Gadot to reference their limited professional history together.
“Well, I worked with him for one night,” she said. “Tom, it’s fine. It’s okay. I can take it.”
The Death on the Nile star later downplayed any disappointment by noting her own dessert preferences run in a different direction.
“I don’t like cakes. I don’t like cakes. It’s fine. I like chocolates.”
The $125 confection, baked by Doan’s Bakery in Woodland Hills, California, features chunks of white chocolate mixed into coconut-infused batter, coated in cream cheese frosting, and dusted with toasted coconut flakes. Cruise reportedly ships hundreds of them each December to friends, former co-stars, directors, and industry heavyweights across the globe.
Fellow celebrities have been considerably more enthusiastic about the annual delivery than Gadot claims to be. Tom Hanks previously joked on The Graham Norton Show that his production office staff treat the cake’s arrival like a national holiday, setting a timer to finish the rich dessert in a single afternoon. Top Gun: Maverick co-star Glen Powell admitted that he and his family look forward to the delivery all year, describing it as the single most delicious baked good he has ever tasted.
The list has also spawned its own minor dramas. Brooke Shields has spoken about the heartbreak of falling off the list after receiving the cake for several consecutive years, with the deliveries stopping without explanation. Meanwhile, Cruise himself has admitted on The Late Late Show that he rarely eats the cakes due to his rigorous physical training, instead taking vicarious pleasure in hearing about his friends’ sugar rushes.
Other confirmed recipients who have publicly raved about the tradition include Kirsten Dunst, Henry Cavill, Rosie O’Donnell, and Jon Hamm.
Despite Gadot’s current absence from the exclusive mailing list, her growing slate of blockbuster franchises has left fans speculating that a future collaboration could finally land her a spot on Cruise’s holiday spreadsheet.
