Actress Naya Rivera, best known for her role in hit series Glee, is presumed dead by authorities in Ventura County, California.
Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said search efforts to find the 33-year-old actress will resume “at first light”. She went missing at Lake Piru on Wednesday evening and authorities have called it a possible drowning.
Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Buschow said Rivera and her four-year-old son went to the lake in the afternoon and rented a boat with her young child. They were seen on the boat together.
However, three hours after, Rivera’s boat was found drifting in the lake. The young boy was fast asleep onboard.
Authorities immediately organized air and dive teams to find Rivera. They tried pressing the child for information, but all he said was that they went swimming but his mommy did not go back to the boat.
The boy, named Josey, had his life vest on, while the adult live vest, supposedly Rivera’s, was left on the boat.
Naya is best known for her role as cheerleader Santana Lopez on “Glee”. She married actor Ryan Dorsey in 2014 but they divorced in 2018. Josey is Rivera’s only child
