You may remember Ivette Ivens as the family photographer from Chicago who staunchly advocates public breastfeeding by taking gorgeous photos of mothers breastfeeding outdoors.
“It’s a totally normal thing,” she wants to remind everyone.
Her I Breastfeed My Toddler art show recently concluded with much success. Not only that, her photobook, Breastfeeding Goddesses, is already set for release in November of this year.
While Ivette’s advocacy is definitely taking off and reaching people from all over the globe, her beliefs actually originated closer to home — her personal experience as a mother of two.
“I believe that mothers should nurse their little ones whenever they want to.”
Extended breastfeeding is also something that Ivette advocates.
“Children know when it’s time to wean off. Mothers do too. Strangers don’t know, so they shouldn’t care.”
Breastfeeding Goddesses is available for pre-order here. You can also follow Ivette on Facebook and Instagram to see more of her amazing work.
