Gwyneth Paltrow shared a poolside summer photo carousel on Instagram Friday that included a topless shot and her daughter Apple Martin in a bikini.
“Summer, so far so good,” Paltrow, 53, captioned the post on the platform. The carousel featured multiple images from her seasonal downtime, including one where she smiled alongside Apple, 23, who wore a red-and-white striped bikini while Paltrow sported a black plunging swimsuit and sunglasses.
In another photo, Paltrow appeared to be topless while eating snacks, presented in black-and-white. A third image showcased her long legs with her pool visible in the background.
The Goop founder has embraced topless imagery repeatedly on social media in recent months. She made her TikTok debut earlier this year with a racy video captioned, “Apparently I’m on TikTok now.” In clips from that debut, she appeared topless in bed and in a bathtub.
In July, Paltrow lost her top again for a Goop promotional shoot. She stood in a field of wildflowers with a towel wrapped around her while scrolling on her phone. When she turned her back to the camera, the towel dropped to reveal her bare back. “Want to shower with us?” The caption read. “The next addition to your daily ritual is dropping soon.”
Paltrow shares daughter Apple and son Moses, 20, with ex-husband Chris Martin, 48, the Coldplay frontman. The former couple has maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship since their 2014 “conscious uncoupling,” frequently reuniting for family milestones.
Apple has increasingly stepped into the public eye herself. She made her society debut at the Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris in November 2024, wearing a custom blue Valentino gown. She has also pursued modeling, appearing in a Gap campaign with her mother in September 2025, and performed onstage with music group Jade Street at Cannery Hall in Nashville in October 2025.
The 23-year-old is now following her mother’s path into acting. She will star in Nancy Meyers’ forthcoming movie “Paris Paramount,” and was photographed on set in July working alongside Owen Wilson, Rich Sommer, Erin Doherty and Tony Hale. In a previous interview, Apple addressed “nepo-baby” claims, stating that her parents instilled a strong work ethic and that she “has to work.”
In the viral moment that established her comfort with revealing imagery, Paltrow posed nude with gold body paint for her 50th birthday in 2022. “All I know is that they’re painting me gold and that I have to be naked,” she said of the shoot. “I feel so good turning 50, and this is about expressing that sense of energy and optimism that I’m experiencing.”
She elaborated on her evolving relationship with age and self-image, adding, “I really flipped out when I turned 40. Because I thought, ‘My life is over. I’m not going to be attractive anymore, and society isn’t going to want me.’ I really panicked. Turning 50 was the polar opposite. I was like, ‘I’ve never felt better in my own skin, and I don’t care if people think I’m attractive or not. I love myself.'”
Paltrow’s latest film role came in “Marty Supreme,” the A24 sports drama starring Timothée Chalamet. Apple supported her mother at the New York premiere in December 2025, wearing Paltrow’s vintage 1996 Calvin Klein slip dress from the “Emma” premiere.
Apple will next appear in “Paris Paramount,” though Meyers has not announced a release date for the romantic comedy.
