After living in a home for three years, you might believe you’re familiar with every aspect of it. However, one TikTok user has demonstrated that this may not be the case.
Podcaster and life coach Julia Henning revealed a spine-chilling discovery in a TikTok post, stating she came across it while tidying up her closet.
Typically, the worst thing you might find in such a scenario is an outdated piece of clothing you can’t believe you ever wore. But Henning’s find was far more alarming.

In her video, Henning pointed out a small latch on the floor of her closet. When she tugged on it, a section of the floor lifted to expose a steep spiral staircase descending into darkness.
Alongside the video, Henning wrote: “I was cleaning the closet and decided to investigate. This is what I found… should I go in?”
While some might have been excited about the potential for additional storage space, most viewers were not as thrilled.
“That’s called a Nope and I would hire professionals to investigate,” one person commented.
Another viewer added: “Nope. Put boxes over it and forget about it.”
Despite the advice to abandon the house and seal the space for good, Henning chose to be courageous and uncover more about the mysterious hole.
She chronicled her exploration in several videos, one of which featured her calling in a medium to evaluate the space.
Unsurprisingly, the medium felt ‘uncomfortable’ about descending into the room.
“That’s probably her survival instinct telling her to get off those sketchy ass stairs,” one person remarked after watching the clip.
Eventually, Henning decided to descend into the space herself. Inside, she found a bare concrete wall on one side, with the other side featuring some wooden shelving and what appeared to be a wine rack.
There was also some writing on the wall, spelling out someone’s name. Could they still be down there?
While the space could be useful for storage or even transformed into a wine cellar, one has to wonder if it’s worth facing any potential horrors lurking in the shadows.
When it comes to utilizing the space, I lean towards ‘boarding it up.’ It’s always better to be safe.
