When a lost and starving pitbull was wandering the woods outside of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, it seemed unlikely that he’d have a happy ending. Until he was found by “super-vet” Wilson Coutinho Martins.

Wilson stumbled upon the heavily bleeding and horrifically thin dog in the undergrowth.
Famous around the world for his videos of saving animals, Wilson’s super-vet instincts kicked in.
The dog, newly named Davi, was in a bad way. He weighed just 28 pounds and his wounds were infected and covered in maggots, according to Wilson’s Facebook page.
Davi had lost a lot of blood and underwent several blood transfusions.
But, little by little, Davi became stronger.
With Wilson there to hold his paw the whole way, of course.
After just 30 days, Davi is unrecognisable.
He’s reached a healthy weight and his wounds have completely healed.
And now Davi is a happy addition to Wilson’s 95 cats, 248 dogs, 8 cows, 8 pigs, 7 sheep, and a goat (phew).
