Judd Nelson, 66, was spotted grinning beneath a bushy beard during a rare public outing in West Hollywood, California, on Saturday afternoon.
The “Breakfast Club” star layered up against the heat in a brown T-shirt, flannel shirt and black blazer, finishing the look with cargo pants, brown boots, sunglasses and a gray hat. He threw on a helmet before firing up his motorcycle and riding off.
Nelson has long shied away from the spotlight, making Saturday’s sighting one of his few public appearances this year. He was last photographed on his motorcycle in April when he wore similar attire but added gloves and a black trench coat.
Before that April motorcycle sighting, Nelson had stepped out for a far more public occasion: the 40th anniversary reunion of “The Breakfast Club.” He joined co-stars Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estévez, Ally Sheedy and Anthony Michael Hall at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo in April 2025 for the group’s first reunion since the film’s release.
“I feel really, very emotional and moved to have us all together,” Ringwald said during the panel, per Today.com.
The 1985 John Hughes-directed classic casts Nelson as John Bender, the rebel of the group, opposite Ringwald’s popular girl Claire Standish, Hall’s brainy Brian Johnson, Estévez’s athlete Andrew Clark and Sheedy’s quiet Allison Reynolds. The plot follows five high schoolers from different social cliques forced to spend a Saturday in detention together.
Nelson’s film credits beyond the Hughes canon include “St. Elmo’s Fire” and “New Jack City,” though his turn as Bender remains his most iconic role. His deliberate retreat from public life has made each sighting a notable event for fans of the era-defining teen drama.
The actor gave no indication of any upcoming projects during his Saturday ride through West Hollywood.
