Intense Security Around Release of Prince Harry’s Memoir ‘Spare’

Yesterday, insiders revealed that security surrounding the upcoming publication of the Duke of Sussex’s memoir, Spare, is reminiscent of the arrangements for the final instalment of the Harry Potter series 16 years ago.

The publishers of the last ‘Harry’ book spent millions of pounds to keep the plotline secret until its release in bookstores. Now, an extensive logistics operation is underway to ensure the same level of protection for Prince Harry’s book.

On Tuesday morning, fans of the Duke of Sussex will be able to get their hands on the much-anticipated book ‘Spare’ as it is simultaneously released around the world.

With the hardback being available in UK bookshops and the e-book edition downloadable on Kindle from midnight, no one in any country will be able to get their hands on an early copy. The tome will be available in 16 languages, including Chinese, Finnish, Hungarian, Spanish and Portuguese. Australian readers have been warned that copies will only become available on January 11 due to the time difference, while US readers will be able to download the e-book edition on Kindle in the evening of Monday January 9.

Penguin Random House and the Duke have gone to great lengths to ensure the book is released at the same time around the world.

Prince Harry is set to double-down on his attacks against the Royal Family in his upcoming tell-all book, ‘Spare’. The 416-page book details the Duke of Sussex’s bitter fallout with his brother Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton.

According to Penguin Random House, the book will be an ‘raw, unflinching honesty’ account of Harry’s story. The Sussexes have signed a $20million (£16.6million) four-book deal with the publishing giant. It remains to be seen if King Charles will be spared the worst of Harry’s rage.
