The Japanese are going crazy over this sea slug… and for good reason.
World, meet Jorunna parva, also known as the ‘fluffy bunny of the sea’ for obvious reasons.
A member of the nudibranch group, they can be found from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific.

The Japanese call them gomafu biroodo umiushi, which means ‘black speckled velvet sea slug’.
However, divers have nicknamed it goma-chan, or ‘Little Miss Sesame’. How cute is that?
This tiny sea slug’s distinctive ‘bunny’ ears are actually taste/scent organs called rhinophores. These help them detect chemicals in the water, which make them very handy for when the slugs are moving across the ocean floor.
As cute as these things look, they are even more adorable in action.
Seriously, they even have what could pass for a cotton tail!
We’re definitely grateful for the Japanese for calling our attention to this kawaii.
