Jason Kelce, 38, revealed that his younger brother Travis surprised Taylor Swift by performing a song at their July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden.
The former NFL star appeared on Ross Tucker’s “Ross Tucker Football Podcast” on Tuesday, July 21, where he shared insights into the newlyweds’ top-secret wedding ceremony.
“Trav can sing. Trav has always been able to carry a tune,” Jason said.
He added some perspective on Travis’s vocal abilities.
“Obviously, paled in comparison to some of the other people singing that night, but he did okay.”
The 38-year-old credited his and his brother’s upbringing for their ability to “do a little bit of everything,” He said that everyone is introduced to music in Cleveland Heights: “Everybody in fourth grade, you’re getting a musical instrument. When you’re in middle school, you’re either singing or you’re doing music with an instrument.”
He emphasized that it’s a “very artsy” place and “a wonderful area that you kind of get exposed to a lot of different things, whether it’s the arts, athletics, academics.”
Jason wasn’t just a bystander at the celebration.
The 38-year-old was also a big part of the wedding festivities, serving as Travis’ Best Man while Taylor’s brother Austin Swift stood alongside the singer as her Man of Honor.
His four daughters also had starring roles.
During their July 3 wedding at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, Jason Kelce and Kylie Kelce’s daughters Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finnley, 15 months, took on the key role of flower girls.
Jason told representatives of the American Century Championship golf tournament in Nevada that seeing his girls take part made the day “a special event for our entire family.”
“It was a special event for our entire family, and obviously my daughters are incredible. They’re beautiful, they’re incredible personalities. And Travis and Taylor love them. So, very happy we were able to be a part of it. And more importantly, very happy for those two. It was an amazing day.”
Sports commentator Rich Eisen also celebrated the girls’ moment.
“The Kelce family is just awesome,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “Those four little girls who were sprinkling flower petals all over the place. It’s pretty cool, dude.”
Beyond Jason’s revelations about Travis’s singing, other celebrity guests marveled at different surprises.
Brad Paisley, 51, reflected on the New York City nuptials during an interview with the Associated Press two weeks after attending with his wife. He called the star-studded celebration “one of the least pretentious weddings” he’s ever attended.
“I took this personally when I got the invite, because in the invite, it said, ‘If you’re getting this, you mean a lot to us,'” the country singer told The Associated Press in a recent interview.
Paisley described the security around the event.
“It was really fun to watch the cat-and-mouse game of like, ‘We can tell you roughly where it’s gonna be. We’re not gonna say what building… And here’s the date, and if you’re in, we’ll tell you more.'”
On the July 27 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Marcello Hernández, 28, revealed what surprised him most. “The most surprising thing I saw at the wedding was Tom Cruise. I got to talk to Tom Cruise, and he grew up in a house full of women, and we got to relate about that.”
Kevin Hart joked with his 72 Hours co-star during the appearance.
“You saw more than that, because you were sending me videos. You were like, ‘Kev, I can’t believe this. There’s no phones allowed but look, I snuck mine in.’ Remember?”
Hernández responded with a laugh. “I didn’t do that! Hey, yo, Trav, I did not do that!”
Jennifer Nettles, the Sugarland lead vocalist, also spoke to the ceremony’s mysterious nature. “It all surprised me, because of course, no one knew anything. I guess people had — there were leaks here and there where people were guessing, but no one knew for sure where we were going until much closer to the time.”
Nettles emphasized her pride in being part of the moment. “I’m so proud to have been even a little part of her story. Obviously, throughout her history, she and I have worked together before, and I have such an admiration for her and what she has done.”
The wedding also drew praise from its officiant.
Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid revealed to CNN that Adam Sandler’s officiant speech included the touching advice: “Kiss every chance you have. Every day. Whether you’re going to bed or going to work,” Reid added, “Adam Sandler did a phenomenal job with the ceremony.”
“He brought a little bit of humor but also some sensitivity to what was going on,” Reid added.

The couple wrote their own vows, with Taylor even singing part of hers, a moment that reportedly left plenty of guests emotional, including Travis himself.
Travis Kelce has training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs scheduled to begin in late July.
