Fans are getting a brand-new look at Jason Momoa’s daring new appearance.
The actor, who has long been recognized for his thick hair, recently teased a radical change in his distinctive hairdo when he shaved the sides of his head to raise awareness about the devastation that single-use plastics cause to the environment. He posted several pictures of the haircut on Instagram. His head’s side has a tribal tattoo, which he is now displaying in its entirety.
He cheekily takes off his hat as he boards an airplane in a new Instagram post and exclaims, “Chief of War comin’, baby!” In the video, the 43-year-old exclaims that he is “Proud to be Hawaiian” while holding a pink carry-on bag, an aluminum water bottle and announcing that he is traveling to New Zealand on Hawaiian Airlines.
Momoa shaved both sides of his head, leaving just the top of his hair long and pulled back in a bun. He winced as he confessed, “I’ve never even felt the wind right there,” in an earlier post detailing the incident.
It seems like Momoa will be traveling to New Zealand to start filming his upcoming Apple TV+ series, Chief of War. The unification and colonization of Hawaii from an indigenous perspective will be depicted in epic fashion on the program.
Momoa gives a shout-out to his “On the Roam” production business at the beginning of his video.
He stated earlier this month that he will be “shaving off the hair.” “Doing it for single-use plastics. I’m tired of these plastic bottles, we gotta stop. Plastic forks, all that s**t goes into our land, goes into our ocean. … The things in our ocean, it’s just so sad. So, please, anything you can do to eliminate single-use plastics in your life. Help me.”
Momoa urges fans to switch from plastic water bottles to canteens or other alternatives made of aluminum.
