Rapper and singer Jelly Roll, real name Jason Bradley DeFord, has impressed fans with his whopping 275lb weight loss over the last three years.
Even so, the artist recently admitted he felt nervous about checking his weight after the festive break.
Jelly Roll has previously shared that his weight once topped 500lb. Through major adjustments to his diet and daily routine over the past three years, he’s undergone a dramatic transformation — though he’s now acknowledged that his progress briefly stalled.
In a YouTube upload titled ‘Finally Stepping On The Scale,’ the 41-year-old explained that he hadn’t been as strict since the holidays. He said he wanted to fully enjoy the season, and that an injury also contributed to the lapse.
“Kind of got off the rails, and I broke my collarbone a few days before Christmas,” he told fans. “I had to quit running, quit walking, quit exercising for some extended period of time.”
“I have, to some degree, lost my way,” the star continued, before revealing he was 40-60 pounds away from his end goal.

Although he said he’d been ‘afraid’ to step on the scale, he went ahead and did it on camera. The readout showed 276.2lb, which he said meant he had gained 12lb.
Looking ahead, he also shared a new goal: running the New York Marathon in November. Despite the collarbone injury, he indicated his training is building back up, telling viewers he managed to run 16 miles this week.
He said he wants to drop the remaining 40-50lbs through marathon prep, and then wants to address loose skin. After landing on the cover of Men’s Health late last year, he added that he’s hoping to appear on an even bigger publication — mentioning possibilities like GQ, Rolling Stone or Vanity Fair — with his ‘shirt off’.
“I know it’s getting real silly now,” he laughed , before adding: “I just believe there’s a story that a guy can go from 560lbs to a shirt off picture. It’s absurd.”
His wife, Bunnie Xo, has also said the weight loss has affected more than just his fitness.
Discussing their relationship and intimacy, she previously wrote in her memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic that before his transformation: “We always had a sex life, but there were mountains and valleys that we had to go through – especially when he was so big.”
Since he’s lost weight, she has claimed one physical change stood out in particular.
“It is very true that when a man loses weight, it grows a lot,” she said on The Howard Stern Show.
