John Cena Sparks Fan Frenzy With Major Hair Transplant Update

John Cena has revealed a dramatic new look as he continues his hair transplant journey, and fans have had plenty to say about it.

The 48-year-old wrestling icon launched his professional career in 1999 and officially joined WWE’s main roster in 2002. Over the next two decades, he became one of the company’s biggest names before retiring from in-ring competition with his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, 2025, in Washington, D.C.

Across those years, Cena was known for switching up his hairstyle from time to time. He has worn longer brown hair in the past, and during the final stretch of his WWE career he appeared with a fuller style at select appearances, including WWE Backlash at Benchmark International Arena.

For much of his run in the ring, though, fans most closely associated him with the buzz cut he kept for roughly 15 years, often paired with his trademark denim jorts.

Now, Cena has gone for a fully shaved appearance as he prepares for another stage of treatment aimed at achieving the strongest possible result.

He shared the update with followers on X, formerly Twitter, where he explained that he was heading into another procedure.

“Round 2 of FUE Treatment and this time I went all in for best possible results.”

According to Healthline, FUE is a hair transplant method that involves removing individual follicles from one area of the body and relocating them to a spot where hair is thinning or missing.

Cena first disclosed in 2024 that he had undergone a hair transplant after audience members drew attention to his hair loss with signs at events. In later interviews, he said he wished he had felt comfortable seeking treatment sooner and noted that hair thinning is far more common than many people realize.

The process is often carried out over multiple sessions, and Cena appears to be documenting the second phase of that work.

“Thank you @KenAndersonMD and the staff at Anderson Center for Hair for accompanying me on this journey!”

His post quickly drew attention, with many fans stunned by the shaved-down look.

“CENA WENT BALD OMG!”

“I COMPLETELY MISSED THIS!!”

“This is not right bro, why would they make the GOAT go bald bro wtf. Give him his hair back NOW!”

Others praised him for being open about a subject many men find difficult to discuss.

“Honestly i actually really respect the fact he’s so open about his hair transplant, it’s such a sensitive topic with men and i think it’s really cool he’s so open about it!”

Cena’s hair transplant surgeon, Ken Anderson, also responded publicly.

“Always great seeing you, my friend. Your commitment to the process and long-term hair health has made all the difference. I’m grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me and my team, and honored to continue being part of your journey.”

Cena first disclosed last year that he had a hair transplant in November 2024 after audience members drew attention to his hair loss with signs at events.

“I saw their signs that said ‘The bald John Cena,’” he told People.

He also spoke candidly about wishing he had felt comfortable seeking treatment sooner.

I hate the fact that if there wasn’t so much shame around it, I’d have gotten it done 10 years ago. I thought I was alone, but seven or eight out of 10 [men] suffer from thinning or baldness,” he added.
