Kylie Jenner Sued by Private Chef Who Claims Grueling Workload Led to Miscarriage

A woman who says she previously worked as a private chef for Kylie Jenner has filed a lawsuit alleging that the demands of the job contributed to a miscarriage.

The case is the third workplace complaint filed against Jenner by a former household employee in a little over two months. Two ex-housekeepers have also filed separate actions against the 28-year-old reality star and entrepreneur.

In the new filing, the former chef, who has not been publicly identified, alleges that the working conditions harmed both her physical and mental wellbeing. Among the issues listed in the complaint are a miscarriage, severe hemorrhaging, collapsing in her bathroom, and depression.

Filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, June 22, and reported by the LA Times, the complaint says the woman started working for Jenner as a private chef around Thanksgiving 2024.

The suit states that in early December she informed her supervisors, who are also named as defendants, that she was three months pregnant and would need ‘reasonable accommodations to protect her health and pregnancy’.

One of the first incidents described in the complaint allegedly took place later that month on New Year’s Eve. The woman claims supervisors who had allegedly shown ill-will toward her directed her to ‘lift and transport heavy food items across the street and uphill without assistance’.

She says that because of this, she ‘became dizzy, began choking and gasping for air’, and that she ‘required assistance from security personnel, who intervened by providing water and aid’.

Another alleged incident took place in early February 2025, when she says she was responsible for catering an event in Palm Springs connected to Jenner’s child’s birthday. According to the lawsuit, she asked for additional help because of the size of the event, but did not receive ‘adequate support’, with her supervisors allegedly disregarding her concerns.

“Due to exhaustion and overwhelming physical strain, [she] broke down emotionally in the bathroom during the event,” the suit says.

It continues: “That evening, [she] experienced extreme physical exhaustion and heaviness throughout her body as a result of the prolonged and intense workload.”

The filing alleges that the next morning, while still in Palm Springs, she woke up suffering from severe hemorrhaging.

She then drove herself to the emergency room, where the complaint says she ‘was informed that there was no detectable heartbeat and that she had lost her unborn child’.

The lawsuit further claims that she notified her supervisors about the medical emergency and miscarriage, but was later ‘falsely accused of leaving the kitchen and refrigerator in disarray following the Palm Springs event’.

The complaint also says that on February 8, the chef again experienced severe hemorrhaging and collapsed in her bathroom.

After the miscarriage, the filing says she suffered intense emotional distress and depression. During that time, a supervisor allegedly told her: “Stop it, just stop it. You are upsetting Kylie. You are making her depressed.”

According to the lawsuit, she is seeking damages over alleged failures to provide accommodations, as well as harassment and pregnancy discrimination.

She also alleges that she was misclassified as an independent contractor, wrongfully terminated, and not properly paid for all hours worked or paid on time.

The complaint says the chef later submitted a written complaint to Tri Star, the management company associated with the Kardashians, and that on May 22, 2025, her team received an email offering a settlement and release agreement.

Della Shaker, an attorney representing the former chef, told the LA Times: “Celebrity status does not exempt anyone from California’s employment laws. We look forward to presenting the evidence in court and allowing the facts to speak for themselves.”
