Two unidentified young women remain at large after swiping $2,500 in luxury goods from a Long Island outlet mall earlier this month.
The pair, described by police as “Barbie-wannabes,” hit the Tanger Outlets in Deer Park on Aug. 6, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. The suspects are believed to be young females whose identities have not yet been determined.
The caught-on-camera shoplifting spree began around 7 p.m. At the Coach outlet store, authorities said. There, the thieves stole two luxury handbags with a combined value of nearly $1,400.
The pair then made their way to the Sephora outlet in the same shopping center, police said. At the cosmetics store, they grabbed more than $1,000 worth of makeup products before fleeing the scene.
The total haul from both stores came to approximately $2,500 in women’s accessories, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
The criminals remain on the loose, officials said. No arrests have been made in connection with the thefts as of this report.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering an undisclosed amount of money as a cash reward for any information that leads to their identification and subsequent arrest, police said.
