Macy Gray reveals intense Ozempic side effect that had her ‘up all night’

Macy Gray has candidly talked about her experience with the weight loss drug Ozempic, mentioning several uncomfortable side effects.

The singer disclosed that these side effects were so severe they interfered with her sleep.

Gray opted for Ozempic to assist with weight loss after noticing significant weight gain over the past few years.

During an episode of The Surreal Life, she detailed her weight loss experience with Ozempic, highlighting the challenging side effects.

Ozempic functions by increasing the levels of incretins in the body.

Incretins are hormones produced when we eat, signaling to the body that we are full.

By boosting the production of these hormones, Ozempic makes us feel satiated, acting essentially as an appetite suppressant.

However, Gray reported some side effects she experienced while using the drug for weight loss.

On The Surreal Life, she explained how two specific symptoms kept her awake throughout the night.

“Oh boy, my stomach hurts. I’ve just been really constipated,” she said, adding: “I took Ozempic. I can’t go to the bathroom, and I was up all night.”

She was accompanied by Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim, who humorously remarked, “Ozempic does that.”

Gray continued, saying: “Last night it hurt.”

Kim responded with a word of caution: “You have to be careful, you know.”

Macy then revealed she decided to use Ozempic in preparation for an upcoming tour.

She explained: “Quietly, I’m kind of a vain person. I’ve gained a lot of weight over the past couple years, and this is right about the time when everybody starts talking about this Ozempic.”

“So, I thought, okay, I’m not taking it off the right way, let me see if I can get one of these Ozempic.”

“I was actually trying to take it off [the weight] before the show because I didn’t want to be super fat on TV, but here we are.”

Following her revelation, people took to social media to share their reactions.

One user wrote: “I definitely would not have taken Macy Gray as the Ozempic type.”

Another commented: “I can’t with the Ozempic. Especially if affects you using the bathroom like that.”

A third user remarked: “Damn, Ozempic f*cking Macy up”, while another cautioned: “Let Macy Gray be a cautionary tale to not take Ozempic.”
