The “Confessions II” singer, 68, rang in her latest birthday on Sunday, August 16, with an extravagant family fĂȘte in Corfu, Greece, where she arrived via private jet and settled into an ultra-luxury villa. The centerpiece of the celebration was a head-turning Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda gown that had walked the runway just last month at the brand’s Taormina show.

The Baroque piece was dripping with head-to-toe sequins and embellished with crystal and satin flowers, topped by an arrangement of lush faux fuchsia roses perched on a headpiece. She accessorized with glittering gold pumps, stacked Dinosaur Designs brass bangles, and a floral necklace from Dolce & Gabbana’s ultra-exclusive Alta Gioielleria collection set with tanzanite, morganite, aquamarine, rhodolite garnet and a South Sea pearl.

In photos shared to her Instagram, the Queen of Pop blew out candles on a heart-shaped cake topped with a massive evil-eye motif and posed alongside five of her six children in a rare family photo op.

“It’s My Birthday! Eat, Pray, Love,Drink, Dance, Break plates, Feed Cats!!” She captioned the slideshow of photos from the family fĂȘte on Instagram, ending with a note of gratitude and a nod to the island country: “Thank you G*D! đŸ‡ŹđŸ‡·â™„ïž”

The post arrived the same day MTV revealed she leads the 2026 VMA nominations with 11 nods — a career high — including video of the year for “Confessions II — The Film.”

She put out the 14-minute short in June, ahead of her latest album “Confessions II,” which debuted atop the Billboard 200 in July. Dolce & Gabbana had a hand in that project too, dressing her for the film’s “Danceteria” sequence in a body-skimming baby-blue design modeled on a silhouette from the house’s spring 1998 collection.

In the comments of her birthday post, famous friends showered her with well-wishes. Selma Blair, Pabllo Vittar and longtime pal Debi Mazar all left messages of celebration.

Kelly Ripa even offered her greetings in Greek, writing on Instagram, “χρόΜÎčα Ï€ÎżÎ»Î»ÎŹ 👑🎉🎂🧿” — a phrase that translates literally to “many years” and means “many happy returns.”

Not to be limited to just one birthday ensemble, Madonna also danced the night away in a white lace dress, which she made her own with a jumble of necklaces — her signature cross pendants among them — and an armful of colorful bracelets. Her long table of friends and family, including 30-year-old boyfriend Akeem Morris, coordinated in all-white for the occasion.

The Greek getaway wasn’t all villa-bound luxury. According to Greek Reporter, Madonna also took a helicopter trip to Meteora during her island stay, visiting the dramatic rock formations and monasteries that have made the region a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Corfu celebration capped off a milestone stretch for the pop icon, who has spent 2026 breaking records and reclaiming chart territory four decades into her career. The 11 VMA nominations announced on her birthday represent her highest-ever tally from the network, with “Confessions II — The Film” competing for the night’s top prize.

In the viral moment that preceded this birthday triumph, Madonna had already spent much of the year staging one of pop music’s most remarkable late-career resurgences. The “Confessions II” album and its accompanying short film represented her first Billboard 200 No. 1 in over a decade, while the VMA nomination haul put her ahead of every other artist heading into September’s ceremony.

Madonna is expected to continue her “Celebration” world tour with upcoming dates across Europe.
