Imagine having the opportunity of a lifetime to flirt with none other than Margot Robbie, and then completely missing the mark due to a hilarious misunderstanding. This is exactly what happened to one young man during a Calvin Klein shoot in 2016. While working on set, Margot Robbie decided to engage in some light-hearted flirting, but the situation soon took an awkward turn.
In her interview with Elle magazine, the actress recounted the incident, “I was chatting with them at one point, and I could tell I was starting to flirt with them. I said to one of the guys, ‘What are you doing after this?’ and he said, ‘Well, I’ve got to go back to school.’ I responded, ‘Oh, cool! College?’ But then he said, ‘No. Not college. [High] school.’ I thought, ‘Oh. My. God. You’re 17 years old!’”

Realizing her mistake, Margot exclaimed, “I’m officially a cougar! I’m ‘The Older Woman!’ This has never happened to me before!” The revelation certainly made for a memorable and slightly embarrassing moment for both parties involved.
According to the actress, this experience offered her a new perspective, “So many of my friends are older, and the people I work with are older. Now I get their perspective. And it does feel bizarre, having someone in your workspace who’s so much younger than you.”
Margot Robbie also disclosed that she didn’t have a hand in selecting the young men for the Calvin Klein commercial, though she was pleased with the casting, despite the mishap. She admitted that shooting commercials can often be awkward, sharing another on-set blunder, “I’d lean too far over and there would be a nip slip with my dress. Then the crew yells, ‘Cut! Your boob’s out!’ and the whole set hears it. Oops. Sorry.”
